'I have been a professional actress since I was 19 years old so that makes me an OG Nepo Baby,' the mom-of-two wrote. In the wake of New York Magazine's recent controversial nepotism-themed cover, the veteran actress, 64, reflected on being the daughter of famous parents in a strongly-worded Instagram post. The actress has previously said 'there's not a day in' her 'professional life that goes by without her being reminded that she is 'the daughter of movie stars.' 'I know you look at me and think nepo baby, and I totally get it! But the truth of the matter is I'm 64 years old and this is just amazing!' And they became these monstrous stars in this industry they love so much. My father was from Hungary and my mother was from Denmark and they had nothing. In her SAGs acceptance speech Jamie told the audience: 'I'm wearing the wedding ring that my father gave my mother. It's not the first time Jamie has referenced her nepo baby status during her stellar awards season. 'If I ever win an Oscar I'm gonna make my whole speech about how my dad never one an Oscar coz that is the nepo babies truest revenge.'

Writer Scarlett Curtis, who is the daughter of romcom screenwriter, producer and director Richard shared a screengrab of Jamie's words on her Instagram page as she quipped: (David Niven captured the award for Separate Tables.)

Jamie Lee's father Tony, who died in 2010, was nominated in 1959 for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in 1958's The Defiant Ones. Her mother Janet Leigh, who died in 2004, received a nomination in 1961 for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in 1960's Psycho, but Elmer Gantry actress Shirley Jones was named the winner. Jamie wrapped up her emotional speech by saying, 'And my mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories - I just won an Oscar!' The reference to her parents led some social media commentators to quip that it was 'the nepo baby's truest revenge' to succeed where your parents haven't.
